Eastside Baptist Church
Serving Rock Hill and the surrounding areas for 75 years.
Eastside Church began with a simple but powerful conviction: to follow God’s leading and build something for His glory. On January 8, 1950, seven men gathered with a shared burden—to seek God’s will and leadership for what would become a new church family.
Just weeks later, on January 29, the very first service was held with 49 people in attendance. The church was originally known as Tabernacle Baptist, but in December 1951, the name was changed to Eastside Baptist Church as it joined the local association and began laying deeper roots in the community.
With growth came vision. In 1954, the church began making plans to expand. A special "30 Pieces of Silver" campaign launched in 1962, encouraging each family to save spare silver coins as a sacrificial offering toward a future building—turned in joyfully on Easter Sunday.
Throughout the 1970s, the church began purchasing property for a new church campus, and in 1983, Eastside voted to purchase a metal building that would serve as the Family Life Center—a space dedicated to ministry, fellowship, and outreach.
In July of 2020, Pastor Nick was called to lead Eastside into a new season. With a deep love for God and His Word, and a bold passion for the Great Commission, Pastor Nick carries the vision and mission of Eastside in his bones. Under his leadership, the church has embraced a renewed calling: to help people love God fully, love others boldly, make disciples intentionally, and live sent missionally—across our city and around the world.
Through every season, we believe God has faithfully guided Eastside—providing, growing, and calling pastors and people to serve His purpose. Our legacy is not just one of buildings and milestones, but of transformed lives and a church committed to loving God, loving others, and making disciples who live sent.
